MINERS FIGHT IN MINE ONE KILI.ED LONDON, Jan. SO. No duel was ever set in such extraordinary circumstances as. that fought between two miners at St. Ftienne colliery. They were rivals for the hand of a village girl and decided to settle vheir claims in the workings. The duel was fought out with phks in the light (if two Davy lamps 800 ft underground. After 20 minutes one, Jacaues Roche, fell mortally wounded with a deep gash in the head. The other ascended to the surface and fled.
