NEW YEAR BOWLS

PEACE SHIELD TOURNEY COMMENCEMENT TO-MORROW To-morrow will see the commencement of the annual Peace Shield bowling tournament, conducted by the Gisborne centre on the Kahutia, Poverty Bay and Gisborne greens. The tournament will be declared open by Mi 1 . B. Dhdfield, president of the centre, and Mr. ,!. W. H. Holmes, vice-president, at the Gisborne and Poverty Bay greens respectively, the matches starting at 9 a.nn. The officials will be -Stewards :. First day, Messrs. €. Stewart (Gisborne green) and H.
