N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS THIS MORNING’S GAMES (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this day. Tho New Zealand tennis championships were continued in line, but cooler weather, this morning. Play was confined mostly to junior events. Tho principal semi-finals will be played this afternoon. Court, the winner of the intermediate final, was educated at Rugby, England, lie won the English junior championship in 1927. He has been in New Zealand for the past two years, farming at Roxburgh, Otago. He defeated Cant, of Canterbury, by greater steadiness and accuracy, especially in good length driving and judgment of openings. Cant, who is promising, was more aggressive, but erred too often in his return of service. Davys, a 17-vears-old boy, had not the slightest trouble in annexing the boys’ championship. He has a delightful easy swinging stylo* and is already a master of eourtcrufl. He is a pupil at a private school in Wellington. Davys did not lose a set in this event. He should develop' into a. champion when lie joins tho senior ranks, as lie lias reach as well as skill and agility. Cant (Canterbury), 7—4, I—6, 6—3. COMBINED DOUBLES Third round: Airs. Adams and D. G. France beat Aliss ‘Myers and Lampe, 2-6, 9-7, 6-2.
