BANDITS TRAPPED

Trapping live bandits in a cornfield after a thrilling chase .across two States a police posse fatally wounded one bandit and captured two others. The remaining two committed suicide. The chase started at Clinton, Indiana, where the bandits robbed the State Dank of 0)00 in the early morning. They escaped in a fast truck, on which a machine-gun was mounted. Several highways wero barricaded. The bandits raft into one of these traps, and attempted to uso the machine-gun, but a withering tiro from the concealed posse swept the truck. The robbers took cover in the cornfield, where the police surrounded them, and recovered the entire booty. "The chase ended at mid-day.
