CLAIM FOR DAMAGES
GRAZIER’S REMARKABLE STORY SYDNEY, Dec. 11. In the Banco Court, Joseph Lillie, 60, it retired grazier, of .Redlern, brought an action claiming £IOOO damages from ex-Constable Harold Thomas Roach for injuries alleged to have been inflicted. Plaintiff alleged that while standing in front of a wine shop in the city, defendant, who was then a policeman, came over to him, and said lie laid been looking for him for borrowing florins from people. Defendant .seized him by the right arm, and tore the lower part of the arm from the upper arm so that it was only hanging by the muscles. When plaintiff complained that Roach had broken his arm, Roach replied that that was nothing, as hanging was too good for him. Plaintiff did not resist. Defendant also hit him in the face with liis fist and kicked him. He was litter taken to a police station, and then to a hospital. The hearing was adjourned,
