In the Banco Court, Joseph Lillie, 60, it retired grazier, of .Redlern, brought an action claiming £IOOO damages from ex-Constable Harold Thomas Roach for injuries alleged to have been inflicted. Plaintiff alleged that while standing in front of a wine shop in the city, defendant, who was then a policeman, came over to him, and said lie laid been looking for him for borrowing florins from people. When plaintiff complained that Roach had broken his arm, Roach replied that that was nothing, as hanging was too good for him. Plaintiff did not resist.
