50 HHHTAL CHAIRS IN A ROOM LONDON, Nov. 12. Next Monday the Eastman Dental Clinic which adjoins the Royal l’ree Hospital, Gray’s Inn. road, will begin its work among the children and mothers of the district. For size and equipment the building is unrivalled on this side of the Atlantic. The cost .of its erection has been borne by Mr. George Eastman, chairman of the Eastman Kodak Co of America. Lord Riddell and >Sir Albert Levy have jointly provided the funds for its endowment. The clinic is capable, when at full strength, of treating 1000 patients a day, accommodation allowing 62 dental surgeons to work at the same time. The most impressive feature in the building is the main treatment room, in which are 50 dental chairs, each with an electrical outfit embodying! the most modern appliances. There are wards and a special operat* ink-theatre for tonsil, adenoid, and cleftpalate cases. Elimination of noise will be helped by a system of light-signalling to replace bells, by special silent doors, and, in soma rooms, by silent ceilings. The waiting-rooms are spacious and cheerful, iind a large bird-cage containing canaries willy it is hoped, soothe the anxious youngsters awaiting treatment.
