TO-NIGHT’S FEATURES IYA: The Orchestral Octet will be heard. Mr. and Mrs. Victor Baxter will sing solos and duets. “The Conversion of Scrooge’’ (from “Christmas Carol’’ by Charles Dickens) will be given bv Mr. J. M. Clark, who will also be heard in “Christmas at Sea” by Robert Louis Stevenson. Barry, Ingall and bis Hawaiian Quartet will present new numbers, and the programme will include dance music from 10 p.m. till 11 p.m. Until midnight Christmas carols arid 'hymns will "be given by the Broadcasting Choir.

2YA : From 8 p.m. to 10 p.m listeners will be entertained with selections by the Salon Cb’cliestra, the Golden Hula Hawaiian Orchestra, vocal numbers by Miss Hilda, Chudley. Miss Kathleen Ferris, Messrs. .1. 11. Ijoe and Will Hancock, Scottish humor by Mr. Jock Lockhart, and humorous numbers by Mr. Will Yates. From 10 p.m. to 11.50 p.m. there will be a “Community Sing.” The Midnight Mass will be relayed from St. Gerard’s Redemptorist Church.

SYA: A two hours’ studio concert programme will be followed by an hour’s dance music, then from 11 o’clock till 11.55 p.mi there will be Christmas carols after which a rebroadcast of the Midnight- Mass at- St. Gerard's Redemptorist Church, Wellington, will be carried out. 4YA: The Studio Trio will present instrumental music, and Miss Betty Hamilton (contralto), Miss Bowler (elocutionist), Mis,s May Brooks (soprano) and Mr. James Swan (tenor) will provide vocal numbers. At the conclusion of the dance session, which will follow the concert, 4YA will broadcast Christmas music, till the midnight chimes usher in Christmas Day.

CHRISTMAS DAY FEATURES : • v ! To-morrow, Christmas Day, early morning children’s sessions, in which all uncles and aunts will participate, will talco place at all stations —at 9 a.m. at IYA, 3YA and 4YA, and at 10 a.m. at 2YAi All stations will broadcast the religions services. Special programmes for both afternoon and evening have been arranged- There will be no evening children’s sessions nor nows sessions, but the dinner music sessions will begin at 6 o’clock as usual. From 7 o’clock till the concert session begins there will be a relay of a church service or a studio programme appropriately arranged in keeping with the day. From 8 to 10 p.ip- all stations will broadcast concerts of a high standard. 2YA has an interesting attraction for the uhei’UOOii of Christmas Buy, when the Minister of Health, the Hon. A. J. Stallworthy, speaking from his home in Auckland, will officially open the radio reception equipment which has just been installed in the Porinia Mental Hospital. 1

' BOXING DAY FEATURES IYA listeners will hear the Christmas pantomime “Cinderella Up-to-date.” The progi’amme will also feature Mr. Jock Lockhart (Scottish entertainer). 2YA: The Oclmslrina wiU play gay, popular and novelty numbers. Musical comedy items will be sung by Miss Phyllis Leighton Mr. Ken Rigby will sing a group of light numbers and ballads, and Mr. F. Hastings will give humorous recitals. Accordion solos will be played by Mr. G. McGuigan. 7>YA: Excerpts from “No, No, Nanette,,” “The Sunshine Girl,” and "The Quaker Girl” will bo heard, the vocalists being Miss Frances Hamerton, Mjss M. Jennings, Mr. Russell *Smnner and Mr. T. D. Williams, in solos, duets, and choruses. Humorous recitations will be given by Mr. IT. Instone. Instrumental items will be provided by the Studio Octet.

4YA: The programme will include on entertainment to be given on the marimbaphone by Mr. 11. Dalziel. The vocalists will be Mr. ,T. Paterson (Scottish comedian), Miss D. Yoiul (soprano), Mr. J. Simpson (tenor), and Mr. I). Wrathall (baritone). .Items will lie. played by the Studio Trio.
