Last Saturday afternoon 20 ent Imsinstic members of tli<> newly-formed Napier Aero Oluli started work oil the first runway, and as a result cleared a space of 4GH) yards by four chains of all tussock. The Whangnrei (Jus t’o. recently ran a main to the railway workshops in order to supply a conmressor with gas. All trains on tho Whangarei-Opim-Oknihnii and Whangarei-Audcland services will in future use coal gas instead of pinch gas and electricity. Officials consider that the new installation is more, economical, safe and efficient than alternative systems.
