CHICAGO’S AERIAL BEACON
On August 27 last, President Hoover pressed the electric button which turned on for the tirsl time the gigantic aviation beacon on a building m Chicago. 1 r.i'cding the initial turning on of the beacon, with its two billion candle power beam of light, visible for 500 miles, a dinner was served at the base of the silverv tower, which rises to a height of 60^ft., on top of the building. This great light, which Hashes every night s ■ irmdiii'i rays to aviators, is one ot the show places of Chicago.
