INCREASE AT GISBORNE Small increases are shown in the return of revenue- collected at the Gis* borne Post Office for the quarter ended September 30, wlieu coinpsrfid wit It the amounts for the corresponding period last year. The total returns for the postal and telegraph revenue for the. three months is £27,337 Gs, which is £217 10s 9d in excess of the amount- for the quarter ended September 30, 1029. Principal items showing increases are postages.£294 and telephone exchanges £197, while in the telegram and toll accounts there are decreases of £254 and £43 respectively. The statement shows that 4<S.*s money-orders were issued as against 4991 for the corresponding quarter in. 1929, the amounts being £30,923 0s 2dand £31,905 17s 5d respectively. Tho « excess of withdrawals over deposits amounted to £31.132 17s 9d, compared with only £2885 13g 2d for the three mouths last year. For the quarter, £118,934 14s 6d was deposited in the savings bank, last year’s amount being £153,691 3s 9d. the withdrawals totalling £150.087 12s 3d, as against £150,376 18s 'lid for the previous year’s quarter.
