LAND TAX PAYMENTS (Por Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. The Hon. E. A. Ransom announced to-day that in order to facilitate the payment of land tax, which is due tomorrow, by farmers awaiting returns from wool and stock, arrangements have been made to accept promissory notes for two or three months at a discount rate of 7 per cent, per annum. If tho notes do not reach tho department by November 28 or are not met at maturity, 5 per cent, additional tax will accrue.
