GOVERNORS-GENERAL
BIGHT OF NOMINATION PRIVILEGE Of DOMINIONS (Elea. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received November 5,2 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 4. As an outcome of an Imperial Conference decision to-day, Australia’s next Governor-General will be recommended to His Majesty by the Australian, and not the British, Cabinet. It was Lord Sankey’s committee on inter-imperial relations which unanimously decided that the constitutional practice whereby His Majesty acts on the advice of responsible Ministers henceforth applies to Govcrnors-Genentl throughout the Empire, as in other matters, and the Ministers in the Dominions concerned are Ministers tendering and responsible for such advice. In this connection it may be inferred from Mr. Scnllin’s inaction in relation to the Australian vacancy since, bis first audience with His Majesty that- lie was Wailing for the iSankey Committee’s delusion to be endorsed by the conference plenary session before tendering advice on a successor to Lord Stonehaven.
