Permits for the erection of one dwelling and one shed, and for alterations and additions to two buildings, were issued by the Gisborne Borough Council during the fortnight ended 1 October 25, the aggregate amount involved being £1159. The Gisborne Borough Cbuncil at its meeting last evening resolved to cut the grass and mark out the tennis courts set apart for the use of the Y.W.C.A. on the Rutene road reserve, the Mayor, Mr. I). W. Coleman, explaining that he had been approached by the secretary, Miss A. Perry, with a request that the work should be done.
