Mr. P. 11. Harper, S.M., left Gisborne this afternoon for Wairo.a, where he will preside at a sitting of the Magistrate’s Court to-morrow. A serious injury to one eye was suffered this morning by Mr. Dixon Jobson. a Poverty Bay representative footballer, as a result of a shearmg shed accident. ‘ One of the sheep, to 1 which Mr. Jobson was attending, kicked the point of the shears into his eye, Both the eyelid apt! eyeball Were pierced. lie was removed to a private hospital in Gisborne, where the lid was stitched, and other necessary attention given. It is not known vet whether the sight of the injured eye will be lest.
