NEW CHIEF APPOINTED (Elec. Tel. Copyright—Knifed Press Assn ) MELBOURNE* May 2. ( Major-General W. A. Coxen, ‘C.B., C.AI.G., lias been appointed chief of the general staff of the Australian army. He is regarded as tlie finest quartermas-ter-general the army ever had. He raised and took from Australia to the Great War the Royal Australian Siege Brigade, and during 1918 on the Western front commanded a great aggregation of artillery officials.
