MRS. GRUNDY’S PROBLEM LONDON, Feb. 25. .Mrs. Gnindy has set a problem for Mr, Lanshuiy, the First Commissioner of Works. it arises nut of his decision, which he announced definitely in the House to-day. to extend the Serpentine’s bathing facilities to women. “I think.” said Mr. Lansbuiv, “that the day has gone by when we ought to say that women should not bathe in the Serpentine, seeing that womi'ii sit with us in this House, ami take baths in it.” The problem is that he will have to make “a small charge” in future, because shelters will be provided when mixed bathing starts. Concerning 1 his Air. Lansbiiry remarked: “The department is prepared to discuss with the people who at present bathe there whether it is possible to make arrangements to satisfy Mrs. Grundy and them at tlie same time. But T :im sure I should not be allowed to give permission for men and women, oven before 8 o’clock to undress on the path and go in just as they please/’
