ADDITIONAL BUSINESS The Cook County Council’s monthly meeting, which commenced this morning, continued after lunch, business taken then being given below : It was decided to pay £3OO immediately to the Public Works Department for the construction of Spence and Alossman’s bridge, the balance of the £1350 to be forwarded later The East Coast Commissioner wrote pointing out that- the Beach road at Muriwai from the old hotel site to the beach was in a very bad and dangerous state. —The matter was referred to Cr. Bowen, with power to act. Mr. W. J. Olley, Ot'mond, pointed out that a county ranger seized the writer's cows on the road .as they were being driven, the ranger gallop ng the animals along the rood to the pound, despite the owner’s entreaties. —The matter was referred to the chief county ranger for a report. Mr. Edward A. Strong, Gisborne, m applying for road access to bis property, section 14, block E, Whataupoko, complained that ho was securing no return from his rates and there had been no improvement in the position for four years, despite numerous applications bo had made during that time. Two roads frero shown on the map, ikoy might as well not exist. —The matter was ''eld over until the member for the riding could attend. Mr. D. A. Lee, Ormond, wrote: “As ra ratepayer, I wish to formally object to the raising of a loan for an aenodrome. I consider such a tiling would bo very well left to private enterprise.— Received Mr. T) G. Thornton, the Mnm Highways Board’s representative at Gisborne, forwarded a circular issued by the hoard with reference to the superelevation of curves on main highways, and the council was asked to comply with the requirements in future work, consideration to be given in the meantime to drawing up a tentative list of improvements on primary highways only.
