GLASS HOUSE ON A ROOF
OFFICIAL’S £16,000 “SUN-BATH” NEW YORK, Feb. 16. Mr. Alfred Smith, the former Governor of the State of New York, is having a glass house built, at a cost of £16,000, over his apartment high above Fifth Avenue. TTe expects it to pay for itself in hotter health for himself, his family, and his pets. It will he big enough for a. romp with every one of the ex-governor’s grandchildren, and will house three cats, two canaries, two clogs, a parrot and a monkey, to say nothing of numerous tropical plants. A special violet-ray glass is being used in enclosing this sun-bath, which, it. is declared, will bring many of the delights of the Riviera to Mr. (Smith’s own doorstep —or, rather, his roof.
