Protests were raised nt the Taranaki Farmers’ Union meeting against some of the provisions of the insurance in vogue in connection with tho Workers’ Compensation Act. Several members enumerated tho disadvantages and risks of accidents nob being properly covered by insurances through the present arrangement whereby varying classes _of ■work were, covered by different policies, ft was decided to urge the underwriters’ association to inaugurate a scale of insurance covering farm laborers comprehensively. It was considered such provision would facilitate the employment of labor on farms.
