FATALITY ON STEAMER
FALL TO BOTTOM OF HOLD (Per Pre*s Assoc-inturn.) WESTPORT, this day Abdul Berrick, employed, as a lamptrimmer on the s.s. Rosevic, fell from a ’tween deck to the bottom of the hold when the vessel was 18 miles off Westport. On arrival in the roadstead a. doctor attended him and he was subsequently admitted to hospital, where he died on Monday evening. At the inquost evidence was given that deceased went down the hold on his own account to obtain a barrel, accompanied by Morral Hock, another member of the crew, and fell from the ’tween decks, fracturing the vault and base of his skull. A verdict was returned that deatli was accidentally caused. The burial with Mohammedan rites took place yesterday in the presence of about 60 of the deceased s countrymen, the ceremony being most impressive.
