ENGAGEMENT
The engagement is announced of Tui Roremoana, younger daughter of Mr and' Airs"E. Swinnerton, of Gisborne, to William Clarkson, younger son of Air and Airs C. 11. Scott, of Wellington. Her Excellency Lady Bledisloe at the civic reception in Christchurch wore a coat of black velvet with collar; cuffs and hem of grey fur and a small black velvet hat turned up in front and finished with a diamante buckle. At the meeting in the evening when she announced the result of the Christchurch effort for the obstetrical iJund appeal, she wore a graceful frock of white ninon, Iho long skirt, falling in points at the hem, and a chon of black tulle on the corsage. Her cape of white fur was lined with black. She was presented with a bouquet of pansies, hothouse flowers and fern.
