OVER THE ATLANTIC
SMITH PLANS FLIGHT CROYDON TO NEW YORK (Elec. Tei. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received April 15, noon.) NEW YORK, April 13. The operations department of Roosevelt field announces that private information received from London indicates that Squadron-Leader Kingston! Smith, in the reconditioned Southern Cross, will attempt to anticipate Major Costes’ announced intention to fly across the Atlantic from Paris before May 8. The Australian’s plans for last year were abandoned, and the aviator came to the United States by steamer, but it is believed that a desire to achieve the honor of completing the first westward flight from Europe to New York lias induced Squardou-Leader Smith to revive the undertaking. He will tty from Croydon, and arrangements are being made here for his arrival.
