The sail intelligence was received today l)v the Lev. J. W. Kemp, of Aueklaiitl, of the death of .Mr. Abel, founder of pioneer missionary work in L’ap.na. New Guinea, and tormorlV associated with the London Missionary Society. The late Mr. Abel, who visited New Zealand only recently, was run over by a motor ear in London and killed. Quite a- number of people throughout the Dominion are interested in the work in Papua, the workers including Miss Mill, a sister of Mrs. Smeelon. of Auckland. Mi-. Henry Massam, of the Auckland P.aptist Tabernacle, recently joined the staff in Hie capacity of accountant to the mission. The news ol Mr. Abe! s death, therefore, will he received with miicii regret. Me had a daughter training at the well-known Midlands College in London. /
