An interpretation of certain clauses of the wool and grain store employees' award was sought at a sitting of the Arbitration Conn at Napier on Friday. The court, after hearing all sides, intimated that- a written interpretation would be given. 'I he hoard should now lake over this schrnl for maintenance purposes, as the residents have already done their full sh ire in voluntaiy elfor I, and I hey should nol he expected to provide the full ci'.st of maintenance. Some i•"ijiiireinenls ill the way of fencing are necessary, and the hoard should give some assistance in this direction when an application is made, There are 33 children "ii the roll. I may add that the Public Works Department, in erecting the accommodation house at Tuai, provided special accommodation for a teacher, and any teacher is indeed fortunate in having such excellent quartnrs." The hoard approved the secretary's recommendation to assume responsibility for the maintenance of the school.
