W. AUSTRALIAN ELECTIONS OPPOSITION'S SUCCESS (Elec. Tel. Copyright—rj n jted Press Aasn.) (Received April 14, 11 a.m.) PERTH, April 14. The Labor Party has been defeated in Western Australia. The latest counting gives the combined anti-Labor forces at least 26 seats. The state of the parties is as follows: - Labor 22 Nationalist 17 Country Party 9 Independent Country 1 Doubtful " 1 Mr. Thomson, leader of the Country Party lost the Katanning seat. Mr. Collier's administration had been in power for six years. Tins is the fourth Australian government to be turned out of office since the Bruce-Page Federal Government failed on the arbitration issue. Less than six months ago the Victorian and South Australian Treasury benches were lost to Labor. The elections passed off quietly. In all 105 candidates went to the polls. ■ ■ Unopposed returns included the Premier, Mr. Collier, and eight other Laborites, one and one Country Party member. On the first count Miss May Bromham has again been defeated in Clareinont.
