"WILDCAT" VENTURES
DEALER DEAD NEW YORK, April 3. Wall Street's junkman, Ronald Smyth, a dealer in extinct securities, is dead. Engraved paper representing millions of pounds in forlorn hopes, burst bubbles and defunct "wild cats," passed through his hands during 50 years of a unique business. Occasionally some of his "dodoes" came to life. He once sold a client for A!8 enough bonds in a Pennsylvania coal company to paper the side of a room. The company revived and the bonds finally were cashed for £30,000.
