INCREASED FRENCH TAX PARIS, April 12. American motor car importers had an unpleasant surprise yesterday, when they found that the duties on imported cars had been increased overnight by 25 per cent. It is stated that the Customs Board took this action to prevent the rushing over of thousands of American cars in order to avoid £Tie new French Tariff Bill, which operates in a few weeks.
