A noted Australian angler, Mr. Critehlev Parker, of Melbourne, arrived in Wellington recently. He leaves for England at the end of the month. He is completing a. book, to lie. called “Trout in the Southern Hemisphere,’ the outcome of 32 years’ experience of fishing in Australia, Tasmania, and New Zealand. Speaking about New Zealand trout streams and trout fishing generally, Mr. Parker suggested the practical advantage of inviting one of the great English authorities to come out and investigate thoroughly at first hand conditions in this counry. Food sunnlies. also, had been stated to be diminishing in New Zealand, and Mr. Parker suggested the possibility of introducing from Tasmania, the shrimp naranasnides, which was found m i the Great Lake there.
