An interesting history is attached to the bust of Rotarian Charles Rhodes, presented to him by the Japanese delegates to the recent Rotary Conference at Chateau Tongnriro. Two years ago Mr. Rhodes was in Tokio as a deletrate from New Zealand to the second Pan-Pacific Conference. He became interested in a new method of producing 1-usls and statues, invented by a young Japanese, who was under the patronage of a member of the Tokio Rotary Club When the process was being explained to Mr. Rhodes, his photograph was taken, unknown to him, by a special apparatus which works upon the revolving principle. Later the Rotary Clubs in Japan conceived the idea of'making a likeness of Mr. Rhodes, and present. iic: it In New Zealand Rotary as a token of goodwill. Therefore, the host was constructed, and brought, to New Zealand by Ihe Japanese delegate.
