Sir, —A copy of your paper of Alai o h 7)1 lias been urcMgh:. to my notice wherein a report of a meeting held Let ween several ait* < tois of Dominion Airlines, !,td.. and the Wanganui Aero Club is purported to be reported. 1 may state that no reporters were present at this meeting and Ihe report- its published is incorrect, t pointed out at the meeting that the Wellington-Nelson service would lie commenced in about six months from that time and that a three-engined fly mo- boat was now being constructed'm Kugland for lids service, and at the same time pointed out that the company desired the next service to he the Hast Coast route, including Gisborne. At the same time it was pointed out that the. company had originally intended to start the (.lishorne route first, hut .Nelson people had so realised the advantages of air transpi rt to them that they had come along with a large block of capital conditionally on their service being the first service inaugurated, but provided sufficient capital was raised in Gisborne to complete the balance required lor this service that was the next route. No mention was made about a service being commenced in Wanganui in six months, but it was stated in reply to a question that if Wanganui found capital lor their service immediately how long it would 1 e before it was inaugurated, that it would be approximately six months. The company is importing several light machines which are suitable for taxi purposes, being three sealer Desouttcis, and several of' these have already been sold to private owners and two oi them should arrive in the Dominion within a fortnight, f mav state that onlv -CoLCU further capital is'veouiml Irom Gisborne to commence their service, which wilt put vour town within an hour ot Hastings or Napier, and it is hoped that the people in the district will realise tne advantages as ftillv as those in Nelson have done. \ ours, etc., j p.
