SERIES OF FRAUDS
PROBATION FOR TWO MEN (Per Press Association.) STRATFORD, this day. Alex. .1. bowling and Allan K. Petirce were admitted at the Police Court this morning to 12 months' probation on three charges of obtaining credit by ('rami and one of conversion of a ear. They met at Te Kuiti, and J'earce, engaged in repairing typewriters, travelled to Marton and to Wanganui, where the pair left without, paying their .board at an hotel. They left Havveru also without paying tlreii board, in a converted car, which was left at Kltham. The men wcrv arrested in Stratford, on Saturday, while staying at a loading bote!, bowling is a married mail, and said he had sent £4 a week to his wife all the time he was away from home.
