After issuing a jhirge number of tickets tho committee was refused a permit by the Internal Affairs Department, but it was too late to withdraw. Counsel pointed -out that Conn was merely a Scapegoat for the committee, and a conviction under the Gaming Act, had consequences mure serious than tho line imposed. The magistrate, Mr. 11. W. Bundle, said that could he obviated by a proper application, lie had no option but to convict.
