ASSAULT ON SOLICITOR
A SUMMONS RESENTED (IVr Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. As Mr. Augustus James WestWalker, a partner in the legal firm of Messrs. Egley and West-Walker, wa.s walking home from church in Karori on the morning of Sunday week, ho was attacked by Vincent Henry Kama, :i refrigerating engineer, who apparently had a grudge against the solicitor because of his actions regarding a debt incurred by Kama to a grocery linn. The outcome of this was that proceedings were taken against Fama for assault. When the case was first called, defendant n.sked that it be struck out on the ground that the summons was unstamped, but the magistrate, Mr. K. Pago, hold that everything was in order. After hearing the evidence on both sides, the magistrate said defendant had been worried over his linuncial operations and because Mr. West-Walker had been endeavoring, over several years, to collect an account, Fama apparently became incensed and sought an opportunity to assault the solicitor. "I think you were quite unjustified in assaulting the solicitor in this way." said Mr. Page to tho defendant. "He seems to have acted in a normal way." Fama was ordered to enter into a bond of £-."> for 12 months to bo of good behavior, and, in particular,
to keep the peace towards Mr. West Walker.
