CHICAGO, Eel). 16. Godfrey Smith, 00, had emerged from the display room of the Commonwealth Edison Co. at 4 o’clock the other afternoon when two police sergeants noticed a suspicious bulge in his overcoat and heard a muffled “cuek-oo!” repeated four times. The sergeants promptly seized Shiith, and escorted him to the police station. They unbottoned his overcoat and disclosed a cuckoo-clock valued at £2O and a £3 electric egg-cooker. “I should have taken a clock that was unwound,” observed Smith ruefully as ho was accused of larceny and breaking his parole.
