In the first of last evening's events, It. Hanna (str.), Webber, Roddick and Hay proved a shade faster at the start than C. F. Homo {str.), Brosnahan, Dandy and JGgah. Trie advantage gained there enabled Hanna's four to stay ahead throughout the race, tlibugbthero was never more than half a length's difference the boats. Home made repeated 'efforts to regain even terms, but without avail, Hanna's boat being a thiretof a length ahead at the finish. There was a wider margin between the two crews'in the second race of tho evening, in which R. Rait (str.), Sloan, Slade and King defeated H. Hunter (str.), McGregor, J. Thodcy and A. Zachariah. The winners also went away at the start, and they gradually increased'their lead until there was clear water liefween the boats, half-way over the course. The losers did better' over the concluding stages, and actually reduced their disadvantage, but they were still just over a length behind when the, post was reached.
