Numerous earthquake shocks have been fell at Brawley, California, and many buildings have been damaged. Much will depend upon a meeting to he held this evening in the Borough Council chambers, concerning the ion tinuattco or discontinuance of the schools dental service which has been carried on for some years from the denial clinic established'in Gisborne. Funds are needed to house the clinic in its own building and to maintain it there, and £!4CO is as little as the responsible committee managing the clinic believes will suffice for immediate and early necessities. The Mayor, Mr D. W. Coleman, has been asked to preside at this evening's meeting, which has for its purpose the extension of the scope of an appeal launched some weeks ago, and which has to date yielded only £7O. The clinic committee comprises the chairmen of the respective school committees in the borough, and the part taken by these gentlemen in the appeal is a sufficient indication of their desire that the clinic shell continue the excellent work it has been doirg.
