LEVY ON WAGES
NEW SOUTH WALES PROPOSAL (Received April 10,-11 a.m. ) SYDNEY, April 10. The Government’s scheme to impose a levy on wagies and salaries is estimated to return between £2,000,000 £3,000,000 a year. It has not yet been decided what the rate’ will be, but Ministers have suggested that 2d or 3d in the £ be imposed, with a larger rate on larger salaries.
