COMPENSATION INQUIRY
SUPPORT POR COMMITTEE (Per Prpsx Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. Further support for the committee which is investigating the Workers' Compensation .Act is reported. Evidence will he given by Mr. L. Mr Ilvride, general secretary of the Antal gamaled Society ot Railway Servants, on behalf of over 1)000 members, all of whom come under the Act. The Wellington City branch ol the Amalgamated Society ol Carpenters and Joiners’ Union of Workers lias considered the attitude ot tlie* Alliance of Labor regarding the inquiry and has decided unanimously to support the. committee and to give evidence if necessarv or desirable. The New Zealand Dairy Fanners’ Union, the New Zealand Farmers’ Union, the Department of Health, representatives of oil companies, and Messrs. M. J. Reardon and I'. J. O'Regan, of Wellington, have addressed the committee. The nittee. will continue its sittings until further notice.
