N.S.W. ECONOMY PLAN LABOR'S CHALLENGE SYDNEY, April' 8. The Premier, Mr. Bavin, gave the Legislative Assembly an opportunity of discussing the economic situalion_torday. He launched proposals for a return to 48 hours in all industries, a tax on all wages to provide a fund for unemployed, and a reduction of salaries of public servants. Air. Lang, the Labor leader, challenged the Government to go to the country upon these issues at once. The debate was acrimonious.
