AUSTRALIAN ACTIVITY POSSIBILITY OF BOUNTY (Elec. Tbl. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received April 9. 2 p.m.) CANBERRA, April 9. It is understood that the Federal Government lias decided to grant assistance to manufacturers of newsprint in Australia, probably in the form of a bounty of £4 per lon on paper mad.' in the Commonwealth, and an extra duty of Is on imported newsprint. This follows the lines of an under taking by the Bruce Ministry that aid would he given to local manufacturers, conditionally on the output reaching 39.0C0 tons per annum.
