“This is the last shot in a fight which lias raged 33 years,” said Mr. A. M. Samuel, M l’, for the district, when the new Paeroa Hospital was officially opened last week by the Minister of Health, the Hon. A. J. Stullworthy. There was a representative gathering. The chairman of the Hospital Board, Mr. VV. Neale, said that now the hospital was built it was for the Paeroa people to support and assist in every way. One ward would be dedicated to the memory of Nurse Pennell, and another to the Hauraki Regiment. The hospital would he known as the Paeroa Maternity Annexe.
