NEW SEAPLANE BASE
AN HISTORIC DOCKYARD (British Official Wireless.) Ree. 10 a.m. RUGBY, April 6. Pembroke dockyard has been taken over from the Admiralty by the Air Ministry to be used as a base for flying boats and seaplanes. The principal stations for these craft are at present Felixstowe, Calshot and Lee-on-Solent. Pembroke dockyard, which owed its foundation to Lord Nelson, was regularly .used by the navy as a building and repairing yard until a few years ago, when, being listed as redundant, it was closed for reasons of economy.
