Auckland: Sailed, Weirbank, noon, for Lyttelton; The auxiliary schooner Hunnui arrived from Auckland at 3.20 this afternoon. In order to keep pace with the requirements in the country districts of Canterbury, the Railways Department is finding it necessary to run from Id to 12 special goods trains daily. A valuable' and pretty piece of bush, of about 70 acres, in the centre of the sawmill settlement at Whnkamarama, has been presented to t,lm Government by the Whakamarama Land and Timber Co. as a scenic reserve and game sanctuary. It is close to tbe historic Tui Track, and must in time be one of tbe most attractive picnic spots in the Tamnnga district.
