A BETTER TONE
LONDON WOOL MARKET ADVANCE IN PRICES (Klee. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Received April 7, 10 a.m.) LONDON, April 6. Tho London wool sales are proceeding satisfactorily, and when they close on Wednesday it is probable that many descriptions will show an advance ui o per 'cent, over the opening rates. Commenting on tho position, a Bradford correspondent writes: “A marked change has come over the market during the present week. J lie improved demand for tops, especially liner qualities, lias been maintained, and an advance ill prices has been made. The hardening of values which commenced when Aus tralian growers agreed with buyers oil a selling programme for the remainder of this season has continued. "Because ol‘ the confidence created, not only have our own importers bought mure Ireely, blit it is reported tluu speculators not connected with the wool trade have joined in bidding at the sates, having apparently decided that wool at the present price is a good investment. Bidding at the London sales also has become more active in a general sense. Therefore, wool to-day occupies a much better position than a fortnight ago.”
