A GLIDER’S FEAT TOWED BY AN AEROPLANE (Received April 7, 11 a.m.) VANCOUVER, April 6. A Buffalo report states that Frank Hawks has almost completed a transcontinental glide. Three times since last Sunday, when he started from Los Angeles, his tow line from the aeroplane has broken, but he has merely glided to earth and made perfect landings each time. He has covered from 500 to 600 miles a. day, sleeping at. hotels each night. To-day he came from Indianapolis, slipped the tow rope at 5000 ft. altitude, and dropped down half an hour later in front of a hangar.
