INCOMES NOT REDUCED UNEMPLOYMENT RELIEF NEW YORK. April 5. President Hoover has announced that Treasury- reports indicate that, the income taxes of corporations collected for tho fiscal year of 1930 will not fall below the 1929 collections, while tho individual income taxes will exceed those last collected.
Tho President stated : “Tho result is most gratifying and indicates that the unfortunate developments of last fall did not affect individual incomes to the extent many had feared, nor did they prevent corporations reporting substantially higher net incomes.” Mr. Hoover stressed the importance of continued economy, and authorised a £75,000.000 Road Construction Bill, which will provide work for 125,000 men at once.
