A monocoupc plane crashed on i'unrtia mud Hats to-day. The pilot. Mr. J. Cameron, suffered fractures of the skull, jaw. and left leg, and was ail milted to hospital in a serious condition.
It appears that Mr. Cameron, who was a. war pilot, was giving the owner of the machine, Mr. O. (Lotterill, of Cower Hull, lessons in llymg, and the latter had been up several times during the morning. Mr. Cameron then went up and had just done a. stunt when his engine stalled and the machine, nosedived into the soft earth. Great dihiculty was experienced in getting the pilot out. It is stated that before Mr. Cameron started to come down he did a corkscrew lie then prepared to land, and as he was. coining over the soil ground the engine either stalled, or Mr Cameron cut off too soon. The plane was flying low. and it suddenly dived to the ground, the nose being embedded in the earth. The front of tlie machine was very badly smashed.
