A prominent Palmerston North cyclist, Collins, recently attempted to lower the cycling record of 71ir ]6min for the journey between Wanganui and Wellington, held by Stan. Wright, of Wellington. Collins abandonee! his attempt at Paekakariki, where he was 10 minutes hehind Wright's time, with the most gruelling part of the journey still ahead of him.
