"TIME UP" FOR SPEAKERS
SYDNEY, March 21. At the Rotary Conference a white light apeared a minute before a speaker's time has elapsed, and a red light denoted "time up." A speaker working up to an impassioned address to-day forgot both lights. Suddenly his voice came out through the loud speaker in thunderous volume. It had been turned on to its capacity, and amid a roar of laughter the speaker sat down.
