On his next visit to Auckland the Minister of Railways, the Hon. W.- B. Taveincr, in Ids capacity as Commissioner of Crown Lands, will make a special call at, Kaingaroa State plantations, which lie between Rotorua. and Wairakei. Recently the Minister described tin's area of forest, as the largest single-unit plantation in the Dominion. If was started 28 years ago, and 53,000 acres have been planted with pine trees.
